Our second 'post early retirement' three month journey, in year 2000, took us to Australia (2 months), New Zealand (2 weeks) and Maui (2 weeks). As always, we flew FREE. This time around we used American Airlines 70-C awards that included free round trip flights PLUS free flights to New Zealand and Hawaii. The journey commenced in January a perfect time to enjoy Summer down under. We used three motor home rentals, one for Sydney to Brisbane, one for Alice Springs/Ayers Rock and one out of Adelaide for the awesome ocean view drive to Melbourne. We flew20 minute from Adelaide to Kangaroo Island for a world class four wheel drive safari wildlife adventure that offered groves of 'wild' Koala bears and so muc more. All aspects of the trip were reported in-depth in our CTN (newsletter). Australia truly ROCKS.
